Our Curriculum Content
Our Reach for the Stars Curriculum is aligned with Step Up To Quality.
The Early Learning Guidelines (ELG) are designed to cover:
Your child’s language will develop a lot this year. He/she will show more interest in communicating and might show interest in telling stories and having conversations.
During this year, your child really starts to understand that her/his body, mind, and feelings are her/his own. They are much better at recognizing their own feelings – such as happiness, sadness, fear, or anger – and have a very broad imagination. Your child will start to form real friendships now and build more social skills during this period.
COGNITIVE AND PROBLEM SOLVING:
Preschoolers are fascinated by the world around them and will ask “who”, “what” and “why” questions as he/she tries to understand more about his/her world. Developing or improving skills such as pedaling a tricycle, throwing, catching, and kicking a ball, running, climbing, jumping, hopping and balancing on one foot will be a focus in Preschool.
When it comes to using his/her hands, your preschooler will have the skills to draw a circle or square, build big towers of up to 20 blocks and use scissors. They will enjoy using crayons, pencils, and paintbrushes, drawing and painting to fire up their imagination and creativity.
Creating a world of wonder as we learn together… Inspiring curiosity with joy, love, and laughter.
At Smart Start, we dare to play! We celebrate curiosity and enjoy every “aha” moment. We believe that play powers the big ideas, inspires unlimited possibilities, and allows us to dream big.
